Basics to Use Heat Transfer Water-Based Ink

Basics: The Heat Transfer Process

Screen printers and T-shirt producers are widely using heat transfer technology. Although the procedure adds phase to the screen printing process, it has a lot of benefits when quality heat transfer water-based ink is used.

The textile printing ink is transferred using specially prepared paper as a medium. The picture is usually printed rather than a T-shirt or other item, and the paper then moves the entire image to the final product in a second process using heat.

The printing process is split into two sites, which is one of the most significant advantages. Ink spills and the typical mess of the printing facility are less likely to impact the items.

Transferring irregular, instead of flat, surfaces is quicker than wiring a screen to form around these features. If difficulties arise during the screen printing, they can be resolved without affecting any of the clothing or items that are scheduled to be printed.

What is a Transfer Paper?

A streamlined paper is transfer paper. Smooth paper allows for a smoother and more precise picture to be applied. The graphic will duplicate without the defects generated by a rough surface because the paper is clean.

In addition, because there is no need to adjust for the roughness of the surface, the screen printing itself uses less ink. It is essential to have a thinner silicone ink surface.

Words of Cautions

One consideration when printing on transfer paper is that a layer does not take up a preceding layer when printing. The paper is meant to transfer the heat transfer water-based ink onto the other surface, and the screen may take up fragments of the preceding layer while printing successive layers. If this happens, lower the strain on the screen's surface and apply significantly less textile printing ink in the next sessions.

Waterbased Scratch Off Ink — An Ecological Solution for Printing Industry

Even in the most polluting businesses, sustainability is becoming extremely crucial in society today. Fortunately, new advancements are helping to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing operations. Waterbased scratch off ink, for example, is a brilliant example of this, as it is revolutionizing the textile printing industry.

Many think whether or not digital textile printing is less harmful to the environment than the old-dated conventional textile printing process. Since the chemical material is generally printed on the textile, and the products mostly have to be steamed and washed. Although the environmental footprint of textile printing can’t be completely zero, however it can be reduced to a greater extent using the waterbased silicone transfer printing ink.

Why Sustainability is the Future of the Printing Industry?

In the printing sector, sustainability is becoming extremely important. We need to make the appropriate judgments when it comes to printing technologies and processes while keeping the future in mind. Although the biggest obstacle is the cost per linear metre, printing textiles with digital technology does lead to a more sustainable future. But how precise can we be in determining the difference in the overall cost? The price of a rotary printed metre is less stable than that of a digital metre.

The biggest advantage of shifting to digital printing, is that your manufacturing becomes more sustainable with the use of top-quality waterbased footwear printing ink, silicone ink, etc.

Fabric Printing Ink— Some Common Printing Mistakes

Oscar Wilde rightly said- “Experience is just the name we give our mistakes.” Even in businesses, we can learn from our mistakes. Mistakes made while using fabric printing ink can be avoided and get impressive results with your printed end-products.

Some Common Types of Print Mistakes

#Mistake 1- The Lack of Clear Contours

The design's edges should be clean, neat, and sharp. Because there is no thickened centre in the middle, the incinerator must be adjusted, the fabric surface must be set properly, or it should be removed.

Washing, dust cleaning, vacuum extraction of dusts, consistency adjustments of the proper heat transfer ink, and press tuning can all be done before printing.

#Mistake 2-The Pattern Gets Shifted, But It Doesn't Fit

It's a case where a pattern must not be done in spots like a pattern roller or a stencil since it will mess up the proportion settings.

The most common causes are improper pattern adjustments, faulty reproductions, inappropriate pattern repeat settings, and wrong exposure.

#Mistake 3- Using Wrong Base/Fabric

Screen printing uses heat to dry the heat transfer ink. Make sure to use the fabric or material that can withstand the recommended heat temperatures needed to cure the print or paint. If using inappropriate fabric, it can get scorched or burnt with lower heat-resistant properties. That’s why, whether you are using footwear ink for footwear or silicone ink, make sure you are using the right fabric or base. Avoid these mistakes and enjoy printing!
